Well here it is, my first blogging try, I never in my life, thought that I'd be doing a blog. I always thought that was a female talent and to be honest, still think it is. But I've been told about the power of a blog, the words, feelings, thoughts, wisdom that can be transfered from your mind to a computer, at the time you have no idea where you're going with it, only to find that in the end, you created a masterpiece. I can't make any promises that what I'll write will be astounding, aw inspiring, or blow your mind away like many other writers/bloggers have done to me. But I can promise that whatever I do write will come from my heart, and whatever feelings that are building within me will be shown through my posts which will bring out who I am. So in saying that, here we go..
My name is Ajay Salvesen, born in Calcutta, India on August 8, 1986, adopted and raised in Nibley, Utah. My life has been full of exciting, yet humbling moments. I've learned a lot through leaders, good examples, family, friends, strangers, a variety of personalities, good times, bad times, mistakes, successes, heroes, and enemies. Such moments, were brought from my sports career, family time, friends who have come and gone, all which equal to that precious word called 'memories'. Many of these moments will be shared in future posts of mine. I've sometimes thought about when I die, what memories will I keep most with me? What memories will others keep of me? How will I be thought of when I leave this life? What will I think of myself and the life I lived? That's why I take very serious the saying of, "Live in the moment". We've all been asked, "Where do you see yourself in 10, 20, 30 years from now?" It's an impossible question to answer and I feel it brings up to much worry, frustration, and anxiety. Taking one day at time, will assure us there will be a tomorrow, which in turn will get us to that 10, 20, 30 year point when and if it comes. How do we live in the moment?? By enjoying that second, minute, hour, day? Whatever it is that we are doing, we are happy, because we are not worried about tomorrow, or dwelling on yesterday. It's that one moment that we cherish what we are doing and/or who we are with. We don't know if we'll ever get it back, in fact it's very unlikely. We are not on this earth forever, so if we take this precious time for granite, it will only cause despair and heartache in the end.
For myself, I've been through much adversity in my life, but at the same time I have been taught by my amazing parents, that such adversity we can defeat....by being HAPPY! By ENJOYING the moment! Now some will say that it's easier said than done. I say, you have the choice whether it's easy or not. You have the choice to take adversity, and to apply it, learn from it, build on it and wake up the next day with the same smile you had on the day before. As we do this, there's a sense of pride in ourselves for overcoming obstacles in our life with the tool that many think is the least likely to work....our attitudes. Love your life, Live in the now, Be happy, Smile, and Enjoy the moment!
Nice. How long did it take you to write this?
